Let Love Shine a Light

The Mayo Roscommon Hospice annual Let Love Shine a Light campaign has been launched. Every year, friends and family members who have lost loved ones are asked to sponsor a light on the hospice’s Christmas tree which is placed in the centre of Knock.

Mayo Roscommon Hospice is looking for volunteers to participate in the Flora Mini Marathon on Bank Holiday Monday June 1.

Motorcycle run for hospice

Road race league starts off in style

There was an excellent turn-out of over 200 runners and walkers for the Carramore 10k road race on Saturday evening. This was the first race in the 2009 Vodafone C&C Cellular Mayo AC Road Race League. Probation act for siblings arrested after chip shop row

A brother and sister were both given the benefit of the probation act at Ballyhaunis District Court this week after they were arrested following a row in a chipper in the town. Rachel Loughran, Ascaill Na Bhfea, Ballinlough, Co Roscommon, and Sean Mitchell, Carrick, Ballinlough, Co Roscommon, both pleaded guilty to public order charges brought against them.
